CBS IT Systems Cyprus Ltd, a member of the Cosmos Group, is implementing a project of strategic importance for the Republic of Cyprus, concerning the supply and installation of high-performance AI servers specialized in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data analytics for the High Performance Computing (HPC) Center of The Cyprus Institute.
This infrastructure will significantly enhance the capabilities of Cyprus’s research and academic community, addressing a critical gap in the country’s national computing capacity and enabling advanced AI, Big Data, and scientific simulation applications.
The implementation is based on advanced technologies from NVIDIA and Lenovo, global leaders in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and AI Data Center infrastructure. The selected architecture ensures high computational power, scalability, energy efficiency, and reliability, allowing the new infrastructure to meet the growing needs of Cyprus’s research community.
With the implementation of the project, the path is opened for the application of advanced AI and Big Data technologies in critical sectors such as clean energy, climate science, environmental challenges, natural disaster prevention, as well as biomedical research and bioinformatics. The project marks the beginning of a new era for the national supercomputing infrastructure, laying the foundations for the development of advanced applications and strengthening innovation in Cyprus.
