The “Strengthening Cybersecurity in Cypriot Small and Medium Enterprises 2023” grant scheme aims to ensure a basic level of infrastructure security, in order to protect systems and information. It also seeks to certify SMEs in terms of their compliance with European and internationally accepted cybersecurity measures, which have been defined through the Cyber-Health Framework for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center (NCC-CY).

The submission of proposals began on December 8, 2023 and online applications will last until January 31, 2024. Small and medium-sized enterprises (category B.1 & B.2) are eligible to participate. The intensity of the grant amounts to 60% of eligible costs with a minimum funding of €20,000 and a maximum of €60,000.

The eligible expenses that can be covered by the grant scheme can be classified into the following categories:

A. CyberSecurity GRC Consulting Services 

  • Design and implementation services related to Group Policies and other security features of domain controllers and other related equipment.
  • Services for training and educating personnel on cybersecurity issues by consultants.
  • Cybersecurity incident management systems, consulting services and incident response services and products.
  • Business Continuity Plan Development.
  • Cybersecurity policy and procedure design and implementation services.
  • Business Impact Analysis related consulting services.
  • Data privacy policy design and implementation services
  • Consulting services for the purposes of analyzing and drawing conclusions on the current state of businesses in cybersecurity matters.
  • APSA Cybersecurity Certification audit cost (the cost of an audit may be covered)
  • Implementation of physical security and access control measures.

B. Network & Cloud Security Solutions, products & Services

  • Email filtering solutions
  • Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions.
  • Firewall with or without unified threat management.
  • Intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS and IPS).
  • Network attack detection and response systems.
  • Network equipment that enables/enhances/supports cybersecurity (e.g. firewall, switch, concentrators, load balancers, access points)
  • DoS/DDoS protection services
  • Two-factor authentication setup.
  • Phishing tools/services.
  • Privileged Access Management systems.

C. System & Endpoint Security Solutions, products & Services

  • Antivirus software
  • Servers used for security-related purposes (proxy servers, web application servers etc)
  • Equipment for achieving increased resilience (hard drives, etc.)
  • Software solutions and equipment for backups (Storage, Tapes, Licensed Software).

D. SOC Services

  • Security Information and Event Management (SOC) Services.
  • SIEM Hardware/Software
  • Sandbox Technology Solutions.
  • Penetration Testing.
  • Any other services, software/hardware or tools deemed necessary to achieve the Certification requirements, provided that these will be deemed reasonable during the evaluation process.
